Alverthorpe Meadows Toddler Walk - September 4th

Posted 4/9/2016

In a day of mixed weather, the unkindest hour was that between 11 and 12, when DVWG were out on Alverthorpe Meadows. Setting off from the car park we made dampened progress to St Paul's church, where a lunch break in the church yard was planned. A sudden deluge put paid to that and we set off back on the return leg of our circular route, before convening in the playground for snacks and play.

Our attendees today were 2 babies, 5 walking children, 7 adults and 20 gingerbread men, brought by the Lindley family, who were making a most welcome DVWG return. Thanks and well done to all who attended, with special mentions to Oliver Powell, completing almost the entire walk under his own steam and Noah Glazzard whose fantastic effort saw him complete approximately a full mile unassisted.
