Whitby Walk - July 10th

Posted 11/7/2016

A lovely day out at the seaside for DVWG with an 8.5 miles walk from Whitby, for the 23 people who attended this walk.

Starting from the swing bridge in the centre of town, ascending the abbey steps and walking along the Cleveland Way to Hawsker. There were some stunning coastal views in today's sunshine.

After a lunch break we picked up the disused Scarborough to Whitby railway line known as the Whitby Cinder Path to walk back to Whitby through some lovely countryside.

Thanks to everyone who came along to this one, more Cleveland Way exploration is required I think. This was a great walk suggestion Karen Etches, a genuine shame you couldn't be there.
