Herringthorpe Family Walk - March 13th

Posted 13/3/2016

Quite a tough family walk today for our party of 21 adults and 8 children who tackled today's 4.77 miles family walk.
Starting from The Tabard in Herringthorpe we walked up through Gibbings Greave Wood to the Brecks area. We then did an extended circuit of Brecks Plantation which proved both tricky to navigate and negotiate with a pushchair.

Our final part of the walk was a steady return through Gibbings Greave Wood back to The Tabard where some of our party sampled the carvery as a reward.

Well done to the 28 people, 21 adults and 8 children who completed this walk. A big hello to Bev Pennock, Chris Pennock, Abby Pennock, and Steven & Ryan Dawson who walked with DVWG for the first time today and to returning faces, Maria Steeples and Pat Sherry, nice to see you again. A special mention goes to Holly Hardman for a stoic performance with a pushchair on what was, at times, steep and horrendously muddy terrain! Finally well done to our youngest participants, Poppy Hardman and Oliver Powell who enjoyed completing part of today's walk.
