Thurlstone Moors Walk - January 16th

Posted 17/1/2016

A rather cold and icy walk today on the edge of the Peak District with this 7.8 miles walk.

The walked commenced from the Dog & Partridge Inn near to the Flouch Roundabout and walked along the bridleway known locally as the Snow Road (it was too !) to South Nab Trig Point. From here there were some fantastic views out across the surrounding area in clear, cold winter sunshine.

Our walk continued crossing Thurlstone Moors in icy conditions to Windle Edge where we then descended to Dunford Bridge.

Following a lengthy lunch stop our group walked down the TPT to Carlecotes where we then completed our circuit back to the pub for a well deserved beer via Swinden Lane.

All in all an excellent days walking for our party of 14 who bagged our first trig of 2016 too. Welcome to Marie Smith who walked for the first time today with DVWG and well done to David Richardson who notched up 100 miles season to date with DVWG today too.
