Room on the Broom Toddler Walk - 13th September

Posted 13/9/2015

A record-busting 30 participants (and a dog!) made it for this steady circuit of Wintersett Reservoir. 17 adults and 13 children were in attendance in the late summer sunshine and enjoyed a pleasant, short walk punctuated by wooden statues of the characters from Julia Donaldson's book and also punctuated by a most welcome ice cream stop half way round. After completing our lap, we then retired to the playground and cafe at the Visitor Centre for refreshments.

As well as the familiar faces from our ever-popular family walks, it was also a pleasure to welcome June Richardson and Chris, Kathryn and Benjamin Martin (and Jack the dog!) all of whom walked with us for the first time today.

A special well done to our very youngest participants as every single one of them - even those normally carried in rucksacks - put a shift in with their legs this afternoon

Given the success of this walk, it is clear the format shows promise so look out for another toddler-friendly caper in our forthcoming quarterly diary.
