Eyam And Foolow Well Dressings Family Walk - 27th August

Sorry for the late write up! | Posted 6/9/2017

This thoroughly enjoyable family caper set off, in welcome late summer sun, from the Peak District village of Eyam.  This picture postcard village, with its museum, church, hall and plague cottages is a stunning piece of living history.  After viewing the Tolkien-themed Well Dressing at Townhead, we took a well surfaced farm lane towards Foolow - a small but itself picturesque place - to see the Summer Of Love Well Dressing on the village green.  Lunch was taken, the tea room sampled (or in some cases a cheeky pint in the village pub!) before heading on paths through fields back towards Eyam.

Crossing the lane we came out on, we continued on paths down to Eyam Hall and then down the main road through the village to Town End, where two more Well Dressings were found.  Across the road from this, the Miners Arms had a beer festival and hog roast - a fine way to conclude a fine day's walking!

Thanks to the 17 adults and 4 kids who attended.  There wasn't much to dislike about this one!
