Five Weirs Walk and Sheffield Tap

Posted 21/7/2015

This urban walk was something of a departure for the group. More accustomed as we are to rural walking, it was a pleasant change to take in the industrial landscapes of north Sheffield, especially in the warm evening sunshine.  Unfortunately, closure of a park on the route necessitated a detour through the back streets of Attercliffe, which was less than picturesque but otherwise the walk was not without charm.

Normal DVWG service was, of course, resumed upon arrival at the Sheffield Tap, whereupon our party enjoyed considerable refreshment and plenty of laughs before departing for our respective trains home.

A party of 9 attended this one, including two new faces in Adam and Andrew. Thanks to all who made it along and made it such a fine evening out.
