Gringley, Drakeholes & Clayworth Walk - February 25th

Posted 25/2/2017

A rather muddy walk for DVWG today, starting from Gringley On The Hill walking a lengthy sector of the Chesterfield Canal through the villages of Drakeholes & Wiseton to the village of Clayworth.

Here is where we left the slippy canal towpath and followed tracks on the Trent Valley Way to complete our circuit back to Gringley.

A solid mileage of 11.3 miles which were led by Steve Pennock in his own distinct style which will have contributed to our Peddars Way training.

Post walk drinks at the Bluebell Inn in Gringley, which was rather crazy due to the fire alarm sounding.

Well done to the sixteen people who attended this one, especially Andrea Turner who clocked up her 100 miles season to date on this walk.
